The first thing that came to mind when I saw this photo was wrought iron, like the detailing you would see on typical wrought iron furniture or fencing. Another thing that came to mind was squid tentacles. OK, not as intellectual as the wrought iron, but it was what came to mind :-)
The other really cool thing is that you were able to capture the fine hairs on the leaves. They probably look even clearer on the uncompressed version. Very nice!

I like this one so much that I spent more time looking at it. Here are a couple more observations:
Another thing I saw was violins; these leaves look like a bunch of violin scrolls (the part that holds the tuning pegs), maybe sitting at the manufacturer, maybe sitting next to a master violin maker :-)
The other cool thing you captured was the "depth effect." I am referring to the part of the photo that has the three leaves stacked front to back; I really love how the first one is blurred, the second one is a little more in focus, and the third one is very focused. Maybe I'm more visual than I thought :-)
