The June 2010 Daring Bakers' challenge was hosted by Dawn of Doable and Delicious. Dawn challenged the Daring Bakers' to make Chocolate Pavlovas and Chocolate Mascarpone Mousse. The challenge recipe is based on a recipe from the book Chocolate Epiphany by Francois Payard.
When the new Daring Bakers' challenge was posted I must admit I was expecting a flop.
Up until this month's challenge Pavlova in my kitchen was synonymous with Tiramisu in the sense that many recipes have been tested, but no favorite has been found. There was always something wrong with it.
So naturally I wasn't expecting anything good to come out of this challenge.
Don't get me wrong, I was excited to try the new recipe and to report on it, but to hope for an awesome Pavlova was just too much.
The recipe was really easy to follow and I'm ecstatic to report that this is the best recipe for Pavlova I got to try out. It was perfect and chocolate too!
I did make a few minor tweaks to the Mascarpone Mousse and Cream recipes. I halved both of the recipes right of the bat, but think 1/4 of the original recipes should have sufficed for the Pavlova's I got.
All in all this month's challenge was by far the most rewarding one of all and I definitely will be using the meringue recipe in the future since I had such success with it.
Another thing that makes this particular challenge special is the fact that I've been participating in the Daring Bakers' challenges for a year now.
Last June's Bakewell Tart was my very first challenge and it's been an amazing year.
So, to celebrate a year of challenges and the wonderful, supportive and creative group of bakers I've had a pleasure of meeting this past year I will be giving away two sets of note cards to two randomly chosen readers, one set each.

Each set contains 6 4x5.5 inch blank, folded at the top cards with matching recycled Kraft paper envelopes.
They are great for writing a quick "Hello" messages or as "Thank you" notes; I've been using them myself as "Thank you" notes.

To enter the giveaway and receive a set of 6 note cards: leave a comment on this post (one entry per person) between today and Sunday, July 4th, 11:59pm US Central Time when I will draw the two lucky winners.
Anyone can enter, I will ship worldwide and if you prefer one set over the other let me know in the comment.
Good luck everyone!
I will also be offering the note cards for sale as set of 4 or set of 6 for a limited time in my shop.
